Fallas de Valencia

Every year the council of Valencia organizes a posters contest to announce the Fallas festival. The winning poster becomes the oficial announcing poster for the next year. This is the proposal we presented for the contest:
The design is based on a clear idea that is the principal indentifier of the Fallas festival: the fire. Having this concept in mind, we built an image in which the fire is the protagonist.
For this purpose, we created an expository text with both realist textures and shapes of a fire that, in turn, envelops the image of a sensual fallera-woman burning inside. The composition bears a high and direct symbolic meaning in which the text represents one of the fallas, a fallera-woman burning inside, being the fallera-woman one of the most important and representative protagonists of this celebration. Thus, the composition integrates the text and the image in itself so that people will be able to read and assimilate the composition at a glance.
